Platform Feature Matrix
Feature WordPress Rebuild Approach vs Custom Rebuild
Content Infrastructure WordPress with Gutenberg block editor; custom post types and ACF field definitions Custom Rebuild uses a headless CMS: API-first, platform-agnostic, no WordPress core dependency
Frontend Framework Native block theme; PHP templates and block JSON definitions served by WordPress Custom Rebuild uses Next.js: React-based, static generation, deployed independently of the CMS
Search SearchWP with faceted filters and autocomplete built into the WordPress admin Custom Rebuild uses Algolia: faster index, more relevance tuning, SaaS reliability outside WordPress
Performance Removes Elementor and Crocoblock; targets 60+ PageSpeed score after rebuild Custom Rebuild targets 90+; headless eliminates all plugin and PHP rendering overhead entirely
Content Operations Same WordPress admin the APMEX team already knows; zero retraining required Custom Rebuild requires onboarding to a new CMS; faster workflow for the team after 30 days
Migration Content stays in WordPress; Elementor markup converts to block markup; URLs unchanged, no redirects needed Custom Rebuild requires a full export/import pipeline and a redirect map for all 8,000+ URLs
Knowledge Graph Numis available as a standalone engagement after launch; requires a custom WordPress plugin bridge Custom Rebuild has Numis natively integrated as a Phase 3 add-on with no bridge layer needed

Numis Knowledge Graph is scoped separately at $20k flat, 75-150 hrs. Available after platform launch on the WordPress path.
